Don’t waste your time

Stop wasting your time on someone who doesn’t appreciate you the way you should be appreciated. Never ever settle for mediocrity, for being just an option, for being the one who’s just fun to be with, for being the one who’s always there desperately waiting, for mere concern or pity or for someone who likes you just because he knows he’s got the power to break you.

It is better to have nobody than somebody who is half yours, half there or doesn’t want to be there, or is there and then suddenly disappears. You can be in love and you can be in a relationship. But they’re not always the same thing.

A fight with ego

While talking with a friend, I remember her saying “I don’t know” about something, and initially it sounded as if she lost interest on it nor nothing smart thing to say, but as the discussion goes on, she gives wonderfully insightful responses. And that is how I admire her ego.

So why call it ego? Sigmund Freud’s “The ego is not master in its own house.” will greatly explain that to overcome ego, you must know the boundaries of what you can and what you can’t do. The negative connotation on ego lies only when you see yourself rising all the time, and not noticing your pit falls. The ability to say the phrase “I don’t know” does not mean stupidity, but it’s being humble with what you know, and becoming comfortable with some form of discomfort. These kind of people will seek help when necessary, as they believe that there is no shame in not knowing or failing.

The phase called “rebuilding”

We all went through the lowest points of our lives where we lost our loved ones, may it be physically or emotionally. The time when a sudden crisis hit us that we don’t know what else to do or how to get started. We must come to understand that there is a thing called “rebuilding phase.” This is the period where you collate your thoughts, realize the things that you can control and think about the things you need to let go or forget. You are never alone in this kind of fight, there is always a way to seek help within, but it is imperative that you don’t lose yourself in the process.

My Valentine Ukulele

Before anything else, happy hearts day everyone! To those who are inlove couples, singles, even those who are suffering from heartbreaks — we are remembering this day, that at least love works for others. 🙂

Ok so who will I be dating today? That would be a top secret, but one thing is for sure, I just had my pre-valentine gift for myself — My ukulele arrived 2 days ago. I’m proud to say that this is Philippine made, but its quality is world class! It is made of solid acacia top, back & sides, mahogany neck, ipil fretboard & bridge. It comes with a cool padded bag and used Aquila Nylgut strings. It totally changes my perception about local products, the moment I strum it, it is even better than imported ukulele products out there. Hats off to Chestone guitars for creating such an amazing product.

Wandering is healthy

Hiatus mode for how many days is a big deal of relaxation. I felt I am not obligated to anything, nor tied up with some sort of social expectations. So today let me throw these two rhetoric questions:

* If you have written your life story on a sheet of paper, will you be happy with it, get bored, or wish it wasn’t yours?

* If you have the power to erase a portion, a chapter in your life story what would it be?

When you’re not occupied with daily stuff, and just look aimlessly anywhere, these type of questions just popped into my head. And are you aware that 30% of the time, we all wonder at one point about our lives in general? In my case, I have exceeded that percentage. Heheh.

If you have written your life story on a sheet of paper, will you be happy with it, get bored, or wish it wasn’t yours?

I will feel ok with it, will not trade it with anyone else, but not yet fully happy with it, because my life is in progress mode. Guess even best-selling books were not made to be perfectly written too.

If you have the power to erase a portion, a chapter in your life story what would it be?

There are bits or chunks in my life that I almost wished never happened, but not to the point that I will completely remove it. I just wish I have the power to prolong the awesome chapters in my life.

Oh and also being a bad life story writer, just like me, does not mean that your story is crappy. Just enjoy life, write your thoughts and imagine the unimaginable. 🙂

Year-ender naughty pickup lines!

2012 holiday season had passed, I hope y’all had a great time! For some enigmatic reasons, they say that 83.7% of the total world population, is in the mood for love making, random consensual-sex, getting laid, smooching here there and everywhere, cuddling-anytime-you-want during yuletide season…

Do you actually believe that? And maybe this is the very reason, why December, is the best time people throw more pickup lines, to get laid or at least set the mood :D, compared to any other months of the year. Without further adieu, here are the best Christmas & New Year’s pickup lines?

#1: Believe me, if you ever saw it, you would even say it grows

#2: In the spirit of Christmas, would you like to jingle my bells?

#3: Let’s go somewhere and make this as not-so-silent-night.

#4: It’s 2013! Let’s start the year with a bang!…..on the floor!

#5: If your left leg is Christmas, & your right leg is New Year, can I visit you between the holidays?

#6: That’s not a candy cane in my pocket, but that’s for you honey!

There you have it! So would you like to share some of your signature holiday pickup lines too? I’m psyched to know! 😀

P.S. I’m just shitting on the population statistics thingy, just made that up 😛

Have a great day and head, I meant ahead!

New year, new outlook

My very first post for 2013 🙂 Did I mention that it’s also my first new year’s eve where I feel ridiculously sleepy, as if I took an anodyne or something, while the rest of the people are exuberantly enjoying the moment???

And as you suspect, here’s my phlegmatic note…Yes I think that new year’s eve is just like any regular day, except that you are eating double or triple your regular meal appetite. I dunno when this thing started, but I realized that it’s not as monumental party crazy kind of thingy like when we were kids, we even jumped up high thinking that we’d grow taller every year when we do that — and maybe that’s how the backsliding started. Hahah!

Don’t get me wrong, I am looking forward for 2013, I am just referring to the hype feeling when the clock ticks at 12:00am on new year’s eve. That part looks ordinary for me, and anyone making a big deal out of it, has just been alienated…

Alright so looking back at 2012, I would say it has been tough for me as there were financial considerations and decisions I have to make to survive, but I would never regret such decisions, as it toughens me more. The feeling of being able to endure a crunch time is fulfilling enough. And perhaps you are curious to know what are my goals for this year, 2013.

* Financial Freedom. It’s gotta be the top on my list, so I can stay focus beginning this month, by valuing the worth of money, and thinking ahead for early retirement.

* Career Development. O yeah, this is in tandem with my first entry, and must have a blueprint of how long should I stay on my current job, considering its pros and cons…if it can really give me what I need.

* Self Priority. It’s about time to attend to what I truly need, and pacify myself more.

* Social Synergy. I gotta see the world more often, and less spending time virtually. As much as I love my virtual world, there are better things out there too, that I must not ignore.

* Home Redesign. I want a new ambiance, and I better start at my room.

* Read, read, read. I have several ebooks to read, so I make it to the point that this year, I will finish most of it.

Well that’s just about it. I do hope you enjoy your holidays and we move forward to an exciting 2013!

Pure Evil Talks from A to Z

Got this from a blog site I stumbled upon, and so here’s my a-z list, as my year-ender post for 2012! See you next year!

A. If you could get away with one murder in your lifetime without any legal, social, or emotional repercussions, would you kill someone?

No, I don’t think I had that criminal tendency.

B. What is your first thought when you receive a compliment in your blog, are you excited for the idea of someone from potentially the other side of the world wanting to talk to you or fearful that someone will criticize you?

It is always exciting to get to know people with different culture, even geographical locations…for as long as he/she keeps me interested.

C. Have you ever looked down on someone because you thought your religious views were superior?

Never. Respect begets respect.

D. Would you rather know everything the universe has to offer but in exchange lose all emotions or remain the way you are now?

Remain the way I am now.

E. If you could live and be healthy without sleeping or eating/drinking, which would you cut out of your life?

Hmm could be sleeping, so I could eat and drink all night. 😛

F. If you could take on the exact body and form of anyone else on Earth, who would it be?

No one, just the same body as I have now. No more adjustments, no more disappointments, since I’m used to it.

G. Would you rather burn or freeze to death?

Freeze to death.

H. If it meant it would solve all world hunger, war, disease and bigotry, would you spend the rest of eternity in Hell?

No, I don’t believe in Hell, nor had been there.

I. Was the first crush in your life something you had or something someone had on you?

Hmm something I had. I was 6 that time.

J. Could you live without having sex ever (again) in exchange for eternal youth?

Eternal youth. I can always touch myself anyways. LOL

K. Have you ever watched a full length pornographic movie?

I did, character’s name is Liza.

L. The Beatles or The Rolling Stones?

The Beatles.

M. If you could have the ability to manipulate matter or energy, which would you choose?

N. What was the worst nightmare you ever had?

End of days kind of scenes.

O. Would you rather spend one year with your one true love just to never see them again or the rest of your life with second best?

One year with one true love. I never settle for anything less.

P. All the sequels/remakes/adaptations/rip-offs in movies nowadays, good or bad?

Bad. I hate remakes, it means lack of creative inputs so I will just redo the old ones.

Q. Would you rather be dirt poor and emotionally fulfilled in life or be rich beyond imagination and emotionally dissatisfied for life?

Poor and emotionally fulfilled. I can always find ways to survive, being emotionally happy is something I cannot find elsewhere, nor get an alternative.

R. Do you have any (secret) feelings of bigotry to any group of people?

Yes to religious bigots. Kayo na ang maliligtas! (Only your group will be saved)

S. Would you rather be the only person in the world that can read minds or have everyone else in the world be able to read minds except for your own?

Domination so its the first one. But if I want a chaotic world, then that’s the second option.

T. If everyone in the world would automatically only know one language, which language would you choose?

Body language where kisses and hugs can suffice.

U. If you were old enough and not in a situation where it would be inappropriate, would you sleep with one of your (past) school teachers/professors?

Big yes!

V. A world without religion, good, bad, neutral?

A world without religion is close to impossible, people will worship stones, woods or anything. I think its bad.

W. The men’s rights movement, legitimate cause or laughable, and why?

The fact that there is such thing as men’s rights movement, could mean that something is not polished on our current gender rights. So their claim is legitimate, people regardless of gender, must be equal in all aspects.

X. You can eliminate one of your five senses to substantially strengthen the others, which one and would you do it?

Strengthen sense of sight, eliminate sense of smell. I had a phase wherein I always get colds, and felt that my nose isn’t working anymore, so yeah I’m trained for it. 😛

Y. Do looks mean anything to you? Don’t lie, could you fall in love with someone you thought was ugly?

Liking someone who is not my type, sure. Waking up everyday in bed, with that someone — No. I should have fallen in love that much with that guy before it happens.

Z. Can you understand the mindset and logic used by the opposite spiritual opinion? Example: an atheist understanding the belief in a higher power and vice versa.

I believe I can. We can control the way we think, and the things we believe in, even for a moment.

Our friendly neighbor, but its not Casper

Today is dad’s and nephew’s birthday, (what are the odds huh?) and we prepared a special dinner for them. It’s funny that they share the same birthday and they very much look alike.

While having our early dinner, someone just knocked. Mom approached the gate and went back after a minute asking me to check that person instead, after she realized that its a Korean guy. No offense, but Mom’s been having trouble hearing anyone lately. Or just maybe, she is the typical person who’d rather not talk to foreigners because she’s afraid of saying what she didn’t mean to say, due to inability to express herself..which is pretty stale. Personally, I don’t think this is a case of language barrier, but it’s the mindset that you are afraid of something, though you have not plunged yourself to it, at all.

So after not having any choice, I talked to this guy, who’s standing at our gate with his umbrella (after the entire afternoon drizzles), he presented himself by giving this little something, (sorry no idea what this is, perhaps a good Korean delicacy) and he happens to be our new neighbor, as they just moved in today.

He was about to go, in a rush maybe, as there are many other neighbors to pay visit to…and I remember asking his name, so I could associate the face with a decent label. He is Kim, our new neighbor, and just dropped by to meet everyone in the community. It’s refreshing to meet new people with different culture, but have similar friendly values like Filipinos. That 1-minute chitchat is good enough to welcome him.

I went back inside and told Mom, that she must not be shy to talk to Kim, as he is one of our neighbors now. She joked around that she would call me EVERY TIME Kim visits us. As to my pundit, “sorry Mom, in life, you do not have the subtitle enabled all the time.” 🙂

Confession of a dangerous mind

I’ve been trying to understand the way a man hustle his mind to come up with better things to think about. To peruse whats in my cognizance doesn’t mean that I am crossing that tiny boundary separating idealism from reality. Here are just a few thoughts that lingers on my mind.

* I think that a person is defined by the thoughts that pop into his head…

* that the depth of a man is measured by the things that makes him angry…

* that happiness is not a state of mind nor the apogee of emotions, but by finding God.

* that in this life, its not about being good, its about being right…

* that principle is more important than money and power…

* that being poor is sometimes being rich..

* that you are mostly what you can’t talk about…

* that sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind…

* that our parents do not own us…

* I realize that there’s no easy way to break somebody’s heart…

* that not all of us are destined to be married…

* most of us do not know what we’ve got until its gone…

* that death is not that tragic at all…

* that a closed hand cannot receive…

* that its “normal” to talk to yourself, from time to time.

And you, what are your recent mind confessions?
