Is Abueva robbed off another All-Stars MVP?

The PBA All-Star week 2017 has been over but the clamor in social media is still apparent, at the post game where Gilas team defeated the All Stars Visayas. To be fair with the Philippine Basketball of the Philippines, it could be that only a few members of the board had to be blamed on that, not the whole institution. But then again, we don’t want to see any form of bullying or oppression, esp in an industry where fairness, healthy competition, and sports-mindedness are all required.

Tricking a Scammer in OLX

OLX is a local buy & sell website, where you can post an ad that you’re selling, or if you’re a buyer you can search from the market and contact the seller of that item. I made a few successful transactions from that e-commerce site, but I also met unusual people, ranging from low ballers, those who repetitively ask the same questions without them noticing it, or those who ask for the impossible, and esp those who have fraudulent schemes.

The DLL nightmare: d3dx9_43.dll & 0xc000007b errors

Reinstallation or reformatting of a computer is every tech peeps worst nightmare, the moment when you’re thinking of saving your valuable files, but has no means to recover it. (limited backup) You’ve done all possible ways you know to save your computer from that unwanted operating system loop caused by BSOD. (blue screen of death) So yesterday, my laptop is testing my technical ability, patience and the-hell-I-care attitude. I had no choice, but to accept the fact that I’ll be losing and giving up some files, I’m at the verge of analyzing how much files will I lose and moving on at the same time. I had to act quickly, though this one is a backup laptop: Yes a backup laptop which has not been backed up fully to my external HDD. Yes a special kind of irony there.

Travel Tips : Philippine NAIA, Immigration and First-timers

Preparation Leads to Success concept on a notice boardI still recall my first experience traveling outside the country. The preparation is tedious, mentally, more than the actual check in process. This post is created to help you combat all the conscious fears and hesitations when traveling abroad, and of course, to release the anxiety when you go to NAIA, because you should be enjoying that first-time moment right?

If you’re living in the Philippines, I’m pretty sure you heard about the horror “offload” stories in NAIA. I can’t blame you to be scared, even those with good documents have been offloaded and we’ll tackle that in a bit. Just to be clear, this is only about traveling as tourists, not for working abroad or OFWs. (I have zero knowledge on that) Now, let’s begin.

Nibble at Banapple

We’re looking for a new place to eat within the Gateway area, we tried all the restaurants inside that mall, and so we decided to try Banapple. It’s just located near the entrance of the Gateway mall, ground floor. The name itself is too catchy, sort of fusion of banana and apple — so happen to be the two fruits I like the most. I haven’t checked their menu, I was hoping they don’t sell only fruit shakes here or desserts, hahaha! Let’s go check it out.

Online shopping at Adidas Philippines

With my work schedule, I prefer online purchase when it comes to apparels and shoes, I dunno if that’s due to the fact that transactions can be done in a few clicks, or maybe an introvert like me is just too lazy to roam around and mingle at crowded shopping malls. To add, the terrifying traffic hours to spend going to the mall.

It’s nice that Adidas Philippines offers such online shopping (while Nike Philippines doesn’t have it, boo!) and so I decided to purchase a pair of sneakers thru their site. First glance, design is pretty sleek and straight to the point. The categories at the top are self-explanatory. You can do a search based on the model or available sizes, which is by the way set to the UK sizing. (make sure you know your size equivalent on that)

Apple Watch 2: Should you buy?

On today’s post, we’ll look at the functionalities of the Apple Watch 2, how I rate it and if you should consider getting this edition. Let’s start with the cool features I like from this gadget:

Noobs Friendly

I put value on gadgets that are user friendly, it is as easy as pairing your watch to your iPhone. Just follow the prompts. It may take a few minutes to boot though, as well as on the pairing process. Also the design of the 42mm on a small wrist like mine, is not too bad at all.

Review on Galleon.ph: Legit or Not?

I’ve been buying and selling items online, but since September this year I’ve been trying to find this book by Daniel Chidiac, and I’m unable to find it locally. My persistence continued, and because I really like to get a copy of it, where price is no longer a factor, I searched the internet to find a website that would allow shipping this item to the Philippines. I ended up landing to Galleon.ph. Since I’m a tenderfoot from this site, I asked myself if it is worth the risk to spend more than a thousand bucks for a book, in case the site is a scheme. I’m glad I did gamble there a bit.

Quick bites at Tim Ho Wan

Food is more than umami, it speaks volume about a country’s cultural background. This is why when you travel or go to a new place, food is always part of your discovery list. Like in the case of Filipino dishes, there are multiple influences on our food gusto: Spanish, Chinese, Western and Asian clouts.

The closest to my heart is Chinese, I mean who doesn’t want dimsum, rolls, siopao and that popular noodles, right? So I decided to try Tim Ho Wan with all the buzz I am hearing about this restaurant.

Hindi Kita Papopormahin: Trillanes vs Cayetano

Philippines, this is the kind of Senator that you put on power to make the law. It is about time to restructure the government formation of this country. Too many traditional politicians, too many double face lawmakers where most of them mastered hypocrisy. Most importantly when a senator intimidates a co-senator, what would make you think he has high most respect to ordinary citizens? This is why you should know who you are voting for, hinde komo uso (Oakwood mutiny, 2003) powerful na, iupo na sa pwesto. Kung kaya nyang magpakasutil sa gobyerno that time with all the military antics, we shouldn’t be surprised how he can make a scene at the senate, may it be in the form of distraction or bullying.

Train To Busan: Run as fast as you could

A rainy weekend afternoon makes you feel like you wanna stay at home. Happy to make a choice of going to the mall and check which movies are showing. Good thing I was able to catch the movie Train to Busan, a Korean movie created by Next Entertainment World, which is about Sok-woo and his daughter Soo-ahn who are boarding the KTX train bound to Busan when an unknown disease strikes to one of the passengers, and threatening to infect the rest of the boarders. So if you’re one of the many who’s into zombie inspired plots, then this is a must-watch-movie. (R-13)
